In memory of Randy, take care of your heart

Earlier this week my brother in law Randy passed away very suddenly and very unexpectedly.
He was only 40.

He didn't realize it, but Randy had severe heart disease.
Randy was like most men and wasn't interested in going to the doctor for regular check ups.

If only he had, he might still be with his family today.
Getting to watch his 18 year old daughter graduate from High School in just a few short weeks.

Heart disease is the number 1 killer in the United States.
Take a few minutes and see if you are at risk for developing heart disease.

There is lots of information available about prevention.
A good place to start is at The American Heart Association.
After you get started there, please make an appointment to get your yearly physical.
Do it for your family.

Heart Health Tips

Take steps to take care of yourself and your heart health:
  • Don't smoke and avoid secondhand smoke
  • Aim for a healthy weight
  • Get moving with 30 minutes of exercise daily
  • Eat for heart health
  • Know your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose numbers

How kind of you to think of others at this time of tragic loss. We never think it can happen to us and I am so, so guilty of that type of thinking. Thanks for caring and my thoughts go out to all of Randy's family.

My condolences to you and your family.

Please WOMEN this happens to us as well. In January I too lost a friend suddenly and unexpectedly to the very same thing. She was 43 years old. Our health is our wealth!
