A few books to read

Between my trip to Maui, and Christmas break, I have been doing some reading the past few weeks.
I have a few good books that you can add to your list.

The Light Between Oceans
by M.L. Stedman
The Light Between Oceans: A Novel

I'm adding this book to my favorite books shortlist.
It's a story about a lighthouse keeper and his wife who has suffered numerous miscarriages and stillbirths when one day a boat with a dead man and his infant daughter wash ashore.
The couple is faced with the dilemma of what to do with the infant and the book explores the couple's decision and how their decision affects numerous people.

After I recommended Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn to you, I proceeded to read the other two books that the author has written.  I was not disappointed!
Sharp Objects
Sharp Objects: A Novel
and Dark Places are two titles you should add to your list if you liked Gone Girl
Dark Places: A Novel

On a flight back from Maui, I saw several people reading Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo

It was an amazing story of a little boy's journey to heaven and back told by his pastor father.
It gave me goosebumps!

and finally, The Litigators by John Gisham
The Litigators: A Novel

It's the story of a young attorney tired of the long hours and stress of a large law firm.  After leaving his career, he finds himself working for some ambulance chasers and comes into his own as a lawyer.  It's a fascinating story that will keep you on your toes.

Not my Daughter by Barbara Delinsky
Not My Daughter
is the story of 17-year-old Lily, whose mother is a single mom and principal of the High School.  Lily and several of her friends have made a pregnancy pact and her decision affects not only Lily but the whole community.

So, what have you been reading?
I would love to hear what you have to recommend.

I read Heaven is for Real and I just fell in love with the book! I'm reading one now along the same story line (the title has slipped my mind! argh!) - but it's by a neurosurgeon who experiences a NDE. He was a non believer before he had this experience.
Up next on my list is The Talented Mr. Ripley.
Thanks for these book suggestions - I think I will put them all on my list!
