The search for a cute closed toe sandal. First world problems in preparation for my trip to Africa.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to travel to Uganda and Kenya in August.
It's been a dream of mine since I was in High School.

I will be spending the majority of my time in Africa with World Vision in a small community where our church {and our family} sponsors over 150 children.

While in the community during our visit, we are required to wear closed toe shoes and dresses and skirts that hit below the knee.
I think I have the dress issue under control with a few maxi skirts and maxi dresses,
however, it's been hard finding cute closed toe shoes.

Will you help me?

I started my shopping at online shoes.
Here is what I found:

1. Sperry Top-sider
2. Andre Assous Connor in navy
3. Vidorreta Gigi
4. Born Verena
5. keen rose sandal
6. keen bali
7. Ahnu Zen
8. Andre Assous Anouka

I need something comfortable that I can wear all day and while doing lots of walking
but still something that can be dressed up or dressed down
and that will match nearly everything.
Any opinions?

In my experience, working in a laboratory environment rather than as a cultural situation, "Closed-toe shoes" means NO skin showing, not just the tips of your toes. You should seriously confer with your organizers and make sure everyone in the group understands whether or not this is the case. If you do have to go a full coverage shoe, you can still go with something like Mary Janes or Toms to be light weight and stylish.

I like 2, 4, and 8, but I'm really no fashionista. =)

I think #4. I would rule out 2,3 & 8 because the heel is too big for all day comfort, 6 & 7 would be out because of no back strap for support and #1 might not hold up and looks to not be supportive also. That leaves 4 & 5 both of which look comfortable, have support and will hold up to all day wear everyday. I pick 4 because it is the color of dirt and will therefore hide dirt better meaning less care. Enjoy your trip.

2,4 and 8 would be out because of the heal. Likewise, I would say no to 6 and 7 because I think they would slip off. I was thinking 4 because it looks like the most comfortable and more closed than 5.
