Handmade clay antler ornament

Welcome back to day five of the six days of handmade ornaments.

In case you missed it, check out the scrabble tile ornamentstypewriter keysChristmas tree in a jar and woodland diorama ornament
Today, I will be sharing with you a handmade clay antler ornament.

I can't take any credit for this ornament. I had the materials on hand to make these Crayola air dry clay and told my daughter what I was thinking of making and before I knew it, she had set to work.

I bought a tub of this Crayola air day clay, but you really don't need that much. You could almost use Sculpy clay but it is more expensive.

She basically rolled the pieces into the shapes that she wanted and started piecing them together. She used a bamboo skewer to make some texture and lines in the clay to give them some depth and dimension.

Don't forget to poke a hole in the top to thread ribbon through so that you can hang them.

Put your clay creations in a safe spot to air dry.

You can paint your clay antlers after about 24 hours.

I just love how they turned out!
Don't forget to check back tomorrow for our final day or 6 days of handmade ornaments!

I love these and the deer diorama ornaments. My brother-in-law is an avid hunter and I think I found "his" ornaments for next year! Thank you for the ideas! :)
