Upcycled {Sweet} Tea Tray

This post is written on behalf of Southern Breeze Sweet Tea. All opinions are 100% my own.

One of my most favorite things to do is to upcycle things that I find at garage sales and thrift stores. I have a drop down menu full of DIY projects and crafts that I have made using things I've found at garage sales. I don't usually change the items so much, I just give them a little update or add some personalization or character. When I heard that my favorite Southern Breeze Sweet Tea was getting an update, I knew I wanted to help them celebrate their new look by updating something I had. I took a plain tray I bought for a dollar and added some black vinyl to make it not quite so boring. I'm sharing the full tutorial with you on the blog, plus I'm also letting you in on a fun giveaway you won't want to miss!

Updated Sweet Tea Tray

I started with a plain tray. You can usually find these quite often at thrift shops and garage sales for next to nothing. I'm always a fan of a blank slate so anything that's plain usually gets snatched up by me so that I can personalize it.

I cut my vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo machine, but I'm seeing more and more etsy shops and craft stores that are offering pre-cut vinyl you can use for craft projects. If you need a full tutorial on how to use vinyl on projects, click that text and you will be directed to it. I chose the saying "home sweet home" for a few reasons, but really, I just think it's fitting for all the sweet tea I'll be drinking from this tray this summer!

Since my tray will have liquids on it, I wanted to make sure that I sealed my vinyl on my tray using this polycrylic. This will finish off your project and give it a clear protective coat that will help your tray last a long time.

Once your tray is finished, you can sit back and relax with some Southern Breeze Sweet Tea.

I have always loved sweet tea, but I love Southern Breeze even more because not only is it already pre-sweetened, it's got zero calories and no sugar. Yep, zero. None, zilch, nada.

And there is never any need to measure anything. I just fill up my 2 -quart pitcher with two of the family sized tea bags and add boiling water. I let it steep for about 3-5 minutes and then chill it in the fridge until it's ready to serve.

I also love all the different flavors that Southern Breeze Sweet Tea comes in. Right now my favorites are the raspberry and peach.

Did I mention that there are zero calories???

Seriously, I'm always wondering how something with zero calories and no sugar can taste so good, but it totally does.

Give it a try and update a plain tray. You may even have one in your cabinet just collecting dust. And then, just add some Southern Breeze Sweet Tea and enjoy your summer.

Love the tray. I've been thinking of getting a Silhouette cameo. Think I may have to after seeing this.
Thanks, for sharing.

It was so great to see this post! I won a Cameo from you in Feb :) and I just bought a wooden tray online this morning for a shower gift next month. I will definitely be doing something like this to personalize it!!
