DIY Fall Floral Crate

I'm going a different way decorating for fall this year. I'm really into the muted colors and the variations of grey, blue and white. It kind of all started because I found a flower stem I liked. Who doesn't totally decorate for a holiday around a $2 stem from Walmart? I think it's called Lambs Ear. I rarely look at the fake flowers and stems at any store because I prefer fresh flowers and greenery, but for some reason, I started pulling out stems and thinking I was some gifted floral arranger {I'm not!}. But sometimes you have more faith in your skills than skill itself, so I carried on. I purchased about $10 worth of floral stems, a crate that was already the right and perfect color and some floral foam. Oh, and a faux white pumpkin, because I'm boycotting orange pumpkins this year. I'll show you how I threw it together, and seriously, if I can do it, you totally can too!

I started by finding coordinating stems at the store. I got all of my supplies at Walmart so if you are so inspired to replicate this, that's where you can find everything you need.

The most expensive purchase was the crate for $10. I loved the color of it and it was worth the Hamilton so that I didn't have to purchase a plain crate and paint it. It made this project so much faster too!

I used some wire cutters to cut the stems apart. Don't cut too much off your stem, you can always make it shorter, you can't make it longer!  I placed the 3 pieces of floral foam in the bottom of the crate.  I eventually put burlap in the bottom to cover the floral foam, but I started out, not doing that. Learn from me, do that first.

I followed the same rules like I do when I arrange grocery store flowers. Start with the large greenery pieces and work your way around the crate. Save the filler flowers for last to fill in any holes or gaps in your piece.

I knew I wanted to save room for my white pumpkin, so I worked around the edge leaving a space to slip one inside.

I really love the look of it, and it only took me about 10 minutes to create this. Plus, it gave me the confidence to try my hand at more floral arranging.

Nice post. Thank you for this post to share. Sikkim becoming a complete organic state. Despite being a totally landlocked state, it has achieved something many other developed states are struggling to.
