5 Reasons Why Online Shopping is Better

This post was brought to you by Fred Meyer Direct. All opinions are 100% my own. I wouldn't tell you about something I didn't love. Promise.

I like shopping. I really do, but sometimes it's a major time suck. And as a working mom with three kids, time isn't something I have a lot of to spare. It's one of the reasons why I love online shopping. In the past decade online shopping has changed the way we buy things and I actually prefer to purchase items online rather than to go into a store. I've got 5 reasons why online shopping is better. I'd love to know if they are the same reasons you love it too!

5 Reasons Why Online Shopping is Better

1. Saves Time

With the click of a button, I can access handfuls of online stores in an instant. Most online sites are mobile friendly and when I find myself waiting in the carpool line or at an orthodontist appointment, I can browse my favorite stores. There are no lines to wait in, no back room stock clerks to wait on, nothing. I can even avoid driving in traffic.

The good news is that many of my favorite stores are now offering online shopping, like Fred Meyer Direct and I am excited that Freddy's is bringing that convenience and value to my door! Fred Meyer Direct has all the things I'm looking for in home and electronics.

2. Convenience

Last time I checked it was frowned upon to wander the aisles of my local Fred Meyer in my jammie pants while holding a wine glass. Let's not talk about how hard it would be to push a cart in slippers! Online shopping allows you the opportunity to shop whenever it's convenient to you 24/7.

3. Online Shopping Brings the Store to You

I've recently found myself shopping for new furniture and decor items for my home. Just a few pieces here and there, but after finding myself calling home asking for my 13-year-old son to find a ruler and measure the current side table or patio cushion size, I decided shopping for these items would be easier done if the store came to me. It's why I did the majority of my shopping using Fred Meyer Direct.

I already love shopping at my local Fred Meyer and now I can shop online and have everything delivered right to my door! Not only that, I still get to take part in the low prices I've come to expect, the high value I love and let's not forget the fuel points!

4. Less Impulse Buys

I'll be the first to admit that I'm an impulse shopper. While this is good for the store, it's not good for my wallet. I find that when I shop online, I make less impulse buys and I focus on buying the items I intended on buying from the start.

5. Feels like Christmas When Your Package Arrives

There is something fun about opening a box, even if you do know what's inside. When I recently placed my order at Fred Meyer Direct, I knew what I was getting, but was immediately able to put the pillows I ordered on the couch and bed that I had intended them for. You get that instant gratification of seeing the items you ordered finding a new place in your home and what you envisioned in your head, comes to life.

If you asked me a decade ago if I would purchase more items online or in the store, I'm pretty sure my answer would be that I would still be shopping the stores. With age comes wisdom I guess. Just don't get me started on the book vs reading tablet debate. I'm still staying old school on that one!

I love online shopping especially at Christmas. I just cannot function in the stores that are jam packed with people, lines at the check out that seem to last forever and selection that really is limited. I also find that when I am relaxed and shopping online, I tend to find better things than what I would find in a store. Probably because I am not in such a hurry to get out of the chaos.
