Shop Grocery Outlet first

Grocery Outlet stores likely won’t have every single thing you need on your list. However they do have great prices on many items, so it’s a great place to start when you’re shopping. Sometimes taking an extra ten or twenty minutes to browse can lead you to big savings. You can always shop later for things you don’t have on your list, and you get the opportunity to stop in and see what’s for sale.

Sign up for email updates

If you sign up for their email list, you’ll get WOW alerts. These are everyday low prices and exciting deals. However, the WOW alerts are the best and top-selling deals that are unadvertised in their regular store ad. These are specific to your local store so you can set it up based on where you are.

GROCERY STORE BUYING GUIDE

Learn the product language when it comes to dates

Grocery Outlet gets its products from overstocked items from bigger stores. This is how they are able to get their prices so incredibly low. However, the expiration dates can be tricky. This is why you need to know the product language around dates.

Sell by means that you need to buy the product before the listed date

Best if used by means that this is when the food is at its peak flavor and quality. It’s still safe to eat, just not at its best.

Use by is when the item will start to deteriorate in terms of quality and flavor. These are determined by the manufacturer.

Know these before you go in so you can decide what deals are worth it, and how close something really is to going bad.

Use coupons for even more savings

Grocery Outlet doesn’t take manufacturer’s coupons, but they do offer store coupons every now and then. If you are signed up on their email list, you can often score generic coupons every now and then. I’ve gotten a usual $5 off a $25 purchase etc before.

Follow them on social media for more deals

If you follow their social media profiles, you may be able to see specific stores’ special offers. They also have free events and other information about store hours and special offerings. It’s worth a quick follow to see the hottest products in-store as you’re scrolling through your newsfeed.

Know that every Grocery Outlet store is independently owned and operated, so if you have access to a few stores near you in your area, follow each of them for different deals.

This bargain store is always a must-stop at place for my weekly groceries, and there are always new deals to score. If you’re looking for a great deal on groceries, then use these tips to help you save big.
