The Beginner's Guide to Bible Journaling

Last month, I told you all in my Must Have Items for Spring post about a Bible journal that I had bought my 14 year old daughter. I pre-ordered it but it wasn't released until a few weeks ago. You know when you give a gift and then you sort of wish you had kept it for yourself instead? Yeah, this was that.

Let me start by explaining what Bible journaling is just in case you aren't quite sure. Bible journaling is basically doodling or writing about what you are learning while you are in the Word. It could be as simple as hand letting a small passage or drawing out a depiction of a verse.  Whatever it is, it's a great way for creatives to express themselves while digging into the Bible.

I must say that when I decided to get started, my new journaling Bible sat staring at me with blank pages and I was a bit intimidated. I didn't know where to start. If this sounds like you, I have a complete beginner's guide to Bible journaling full of the essentials {there aren't many!} and a few tips to get you started on those first few pages.

Free Printable Flower Vases that you can Color for May day or Mother's Day or Anyday

When I was a small child, I remember celebrating May day. As kids, we pretty much had the run of the neighborhood. My friends and I would pick whatever flowers we could find, tie them together and knock on the door of our neighbors as we ran away giggling. The flowers were a sweet thing for our neighbors to find on their doorstep and it was a fun thing for us to do as kids.

It's so fun for me to find flowers on our door from the little neighbor girl across the street now. It reminds me of those sweet childhood days celebrating May day.  Which is why I made up these fun paper flower vases that you can print off and use to celebrate May day or Mother's Day or just because. They are so easy and you or the kids can color in the blank vases to create a special treat for those you love.

I Am--A free Easter printable

It's been a little while since I have shared a free printable with you, but with Easter coming up, I thought that I would share one of my favorite verses with you.

I love this verse because it reminds me of when I was younger trying to learn how to share the gospel. It's such a great verse but it opens up the Bible into so much more of God's promises, like the promise that He has won the victory over death!

Are you a missionary right where you are? With a free printable

This week is a busy week for me. I have been asked to be a part of a panel of missionaries as part of our churches Global Impact Celebration {GIC}.  There will be missionaries from Russia, Indonesia and all over the globe.  And then little old me.
I must say, I hesitated when I was asked to be on this panel because, well, it's a panel of missionaries. Having grown up in the church, I'm quite familiar with what a missionary looks like. They wear prairie skirts, home school their children and most importantly they claim that title and live somewhere millions of miles away. I'm totally kidding...kind of.
However, I've spent some time reflecting and God has been working on my heart and you know what? As believers, we all need to claim the title of missionary.  We are serving God right where we are.  During my time of reflection, I have been reminded of this sign that I've seen leaving the parking lot of a local church. It's so very true.

Free printable July memory verse

Summer is such a fun time of year when all of the flowers are in bloom and the grass is green and the sun is out.  I love all of those things!  Which is why it's easy for me to forget that in just a few short months the grey skies will be back, and the days will be short.  There is one thing that never fades or changes and that is the word of the Lord.  Can I get an amen?!

Free printable June memory verse

My kids still have another week of school until summer break, but I know plenty of kids are home already and are probably already pushing the limits!

I picked this memory verse for our family this month as a good reminder to be kind to others, even those people in their family that they may not want to be kind to. Pretty sure it won't help the sibling fighting, but here's hoping!
