8 Skin Care Essentials You Need in Your 40's

This post is brought to you by USANA. All opinions are 100% my own. I wouldn't share anything with you if I didn't love it. Promise.

It's a big year for me. I'm turning 40. I've spent a lot of my adulthood putting other things in front of my skin care routine. I've been busy raising {and now launching} kids, volunteering in my community and starting my own business. All of life is hitting me as I enter into {dare I say it?} middle age. What was something I once neglected because I didn't think I had the time, {or maybe I thought I had plenty of time,} has left me without much of a skin care routine in place. I used to get away with the basics like using a daily moisturizer, maybe you did too, but I'm finding as women claw deeper into adulthood, those basics just aren't cutting it anymore. Which is why I put together 8 skin care essentials you need in your 40's.
I've been working my way into a good skin care routine with all eight of these in the past few months, and I've noticed a definite difference in the way my skin looks. Heck, I even spend more days going without makeup now than I did when I was in my twenties. We've seen a lot of life my friends and our skin has been exposed to a lot of things, but not to worry, it's not too late to get started! Those of us with more {ahem} experienced skin, just need to have a multi-faceted approach to our skin care routine. I think I've got all the secrets so you are covered!

Homemade Tequila Lime Body Scrub

I know I fought them when I was a child, but now I'm totally loving a good bath. I love to soak in the tub and use all my fancy bath products including this tequila lime body scrub. Not only does it leave my skin nice and smooth, it also leaves me smelling fresh. A good scrub can take off all those dead skin cells and rough patchy skin brought on by winter.  Body scrubs make a great gift to give to friends and family and it's a little out of the ordinary from the traditional flowers or coffee card. I've got this easy tutorial so that you can make your own for yourself or for a friend.

Homemade Face Mask From Two Very Common Household Ingredients

It's so much fun having a daughter. My sweet girl is nearly 14 and she fell hard into the land of beauty products, make up and all things homemade. She loves to raid my kitchen cabinets and experiment with making her own beauty products. Some of them are wins, some of them are not. This one though, this one is a win. One Saturday I saw her walking around with a face mask on. I asked her what she used and I was shocked! There were just two very common household ingredients that worked together to create a surprising result that would be perfect if you need a night of pampering.
