DIY Drink Local Beer Opener

I don't do a whole lot of crafting for the guys in my life, but trust me, even the men can get behind this Silhouette project. It's easy and can use up some of that scrap wood and scrap vinyl that you may have around the house. Even if you have to buy the beer opener, this project will still not cost you more than a few dollars!

DIY Beer Opener

You will need:

beer opener
stain
scrap wood
vinyl
Silhouette machine

I used a scrap piece of wood from the pile we have in the garage. Please tell me you have a wood pile scrap bin too? Because if not, you will need to *gasp* buy wood. You don't need a big piece. Mine is 3 1/2 x 10".  I used stain to color the wood {can you tell I had some left over from making my table?}.

I found this bear opener at my local craft store {Artco...if you are in Tacoma, WA, it's my favorite and you should go!}. It was only $1.99. I found a similar one on Amazon if you aren't so lucky. I just drilled some holes and sunk some screws to mount the opener. Easy peasy.

Then, I cut out some vinyl on my Silhouette machine {please tell me you have one, because if you don't, you need to buy one like yesterday!} . If you need a tutorial on cutting vinyl, this one may help you.

Pick up a six pack and gift this little drink local beer opener to your favorite beer drinking guy {or gal!}.

It's the perfect Father's Day gift

Or it would make a great hostess gift for summer BBQ's.

I'm not the only one using my Silhouette to craft for the guys this month. Come check out these other great projects from some of my favorite bloggers.

Great minds!!! Mine is the other bottle opener. I love the redish tone of stain you used. It is perfect! These really are a fun, easy, fast and cheap project to make.
