10 Things that Make Beaches Resorts Different from Other All-Inclusive Resorts

I don't like watching the same movie more than once and I don't normally like going to the same resort for vacation multiple times, but there are times I make an exception {Bueller? Bueller?}. I just returned from my second visit to Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos where I was invited to attend the annual conference Social Media on the Sand. The resort is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach {don't take my word for it, Grace Bay is voted best beach in the world year after year} and being one of the largest Beaches resorts with more than 93 acres, 21 restaurants and 10 pools to explore, there is a chance you could vacation here multiple times and never grow weary of it!

In fact, we met several couples and families who had vacationed at this Beaches Resort dozens of times and they just kept coming back because they said it felt like family. That said, even with 18 visits under one particular guest's belt, there were a few things even they didn't know about Beaches Resort. I'm guessing, even if you've been to dozens of all-inclusive resorts and stayed at a Beaches property, there is probably something you didn't know on this list. So keep reading and let me see if I can stump you with these 10 things that make Beaches Resorts different.

10 Things That Make Beaches Resorts Different from Other All-Inclusives

1. Airport Transfers are Included

There are a lot of details you have to think about when you are booking your vacation, especially when you are flying to another country, but at Beaches Resorts, airport transfer isn't one of them. Complete with car seats {if needed} and air conditioning, there is someone waiting to greet you at the airport and take you to Beaches Resort so you can have a drink in your hand before you can say Providenciales.

2. Water Sports are Included

Every water sport is included, even scuba diving, boat cruises, and snorkeling trips. I talked to one couple who said that they save around $200 every time they go out diving because that's the average cost of a diving trip at other resort areas. We go to a lot of all-inclusive resorts, so it's rare that anything motorized is covered. My husband and I were able to go out on a boat to a reef and snorkel and it was totally included. No rental equipment needed. And those who needed professional instruction {first timer's} got it.

Haven't vacationed at an all-inclusive resort? Here's why you should consider one!

3. Weddings are Free after a Three Day Stay

I was shocked when I heard this because it almost sounds too good to be true! But if you are planning a destination wedding or are looking into renewing your vows, it's a great promotion to look into. You'll receive preparation of the marriage documents, a beautiful ceremony location, flowers for the bride and groom, and a beautiful cake to cut. There are plenty of add-ons you can purchase to personalize your day, but it's a good place to start if you are thinking of saying "I do" on the beach.

4. Order Food from Any Restaurant at Any Restaurant

There are 21 restaurants on the property and chances are there will be a time when you are craving something that isn't available on the menu at the restaurant you are currently at. Not to worry! The wait staff at Beaches is fabulous and will often be able to get you food from another restaurant and deliver it to the restaurant you are dining at. I saw this happen when we were dining at Kimono's hibachi-style restaurant. There was a family with a toddler and she needed a little pre-dinner snack of edamame from Soy, the sushi restaurant. It was delivered in minutes without an issue.

5. The Water Park is Fun Even if You aren't a Kid

Both of our visits to Beaches Resorts have been without our kids. I know our kids would love it, but school is getting more difficult to miss in the high school years. On our last visit, we didn't even wander into the water park area, but this time, we decided to give it a try. I mean, who doesn't love a lazy river? A few laps around the lazy river and we decided to try the waterslides and before you know it, we had spent hours as two adults in their 40's running all around a water park having our best time! The water park may not be something you are likely to visit if you don't have kids with you, but I'm telling you, it's fun even if you aren't a kid.

6. There is a Pool for Everyone

Beaches Turks and Caicos has 10 pools, some of them are buzzing with activity all day long, others are quite and for adults only. There is a pool for everyone!

7. The Spa is Included

Red Lane Spa has plenty of spa treatments that you can purchase during your time at the resort {I had a facial last year and it was amazing!}, but most people don't know that there are several free things you can enjoy at the spa as part of your stay. For instance, there is a quiet hot and cold plunge pool you can enjoy as well as a sauna and steam room you can visit. There are also tranquil showers and spa products you can try for free when you stay.

8. Sandals Foundation is Making a Difference in the Community

For over 10 years, the Sandals Foundation has been giving back to the community through initiatives that support, uplift and improve the lives of the Caribbean people. Remember that couple I told you about earlier? The one that had been to Beaches Turks and Caicos 18 times? They had no idea that the Sandals Foundation existed!

I shared with them how they could Pack for a Purpose and bring necessities like books, pencils and art supplies for local area schools and donate it in the lobby when they checked in. At Beaches Turks and Caicos, they can plan a visit to a local school and read to a child {or have a child read to them} for a few hours. The resort will even help plan your transportation. You can also purchase resort merchandise that will benefit various Sandals Foundation programs that help provide education for environmental awareness programs as well as training for complex social issues that can help strengthen the local community.

9. Special Needs Certified

I'm impressed year after year, at how Beaches Resort is not only traditionally an all-inclusive resort, they are all-inclusive for everyone, even those with special needs.

There are wheelchairs with beach tires you can borrow, a staff that is Autism certified so that everyone in the family can relax and enjoy their vacation and they have dietary accommodations even for those with serious restrictions like those from Celiac Disease. Many families who experience special needs of any kind don't think they can ever have a "normal" vacation, but at Beaches Resort, they are prepared to help you do just that!

10. Beaches Resorts Popularized the Swim-Up Bar

This resort staple was popularized at a Beaches Resort property in Montego Bay. Swim-up bars are fun for everyone at a resort. One of our favorite memories at our first all-inclusive resort visit was our four-year-old swimming up asking for his virgin "peanut colada". You'll find a swim-up bar at resorts everywhere, but Beaches Resort has been doing it for more than 35 years!

That's just 10 ways that Beaches Resort is just a little bit different from other all-inclusive resorts. Next time you plan your vacation, why not check it out
