6 Gifts that Keep on Giving

I don't think of myself as being hard to buy for. I like a lot of things and I'm not that hard to please. Probably my favorite gifts are those that make me know that someone was thinking about me. That could mean that they saw me in my wacky socks and knew I was a fan of bold prints, or they found something they loved themselves and thought that I might like it too. I put together this collection of six gifts that keep on giving because I wanted to share a few of my absolute favorite gifts. Each of these is gifts I could think of at least one or more people in my life would love just as much as I do. Many of the gifts either give back to a great cause or are subscriptions that will keep on giving all year long. Come check out the six gifts that keep on giving. I think you will love them as much as I do.

Six Gifts that Keep on Giving

gifts that give back

1. Society Socks

society socks that give socks to the homeless

Why I love Society Socks:

First of all, I love fun printed socks. But beyond that, I love a gift that gives back. Society Socks is a bold sock company with a social cause. For every pair of socks purchased, a pair is donated to charity. If you ever ask shelters what needs they have that need addressed beyond food, it's that they need clean dry socks for the people they serve. Socks are the least donated, but most needed clothing item. Homeless shelters have a hygiene policy that they can only accept new socks, which makes getting this item that much more difficult. But not anymore!

You can purchase individual socks for yourself or to gift, OR you can purchase a subscription and get two fun and stylish pairs delivered monthly. The socks are great quality and fun prints. They come in men's and women's sizes.

2. Simply Earth

simply earth essential oils that give to human trafficking

Why I love Simply Earth:

I was hearing more and more about essential oils, but I wasn't quite sure how to get started. I heard about Simply Earth and their Essential Oil recipe box and it seemed like a great way to get started. You get a HUGE free starter box with bottles, rollers and sprays as well as base ingredients like beeswax and coconut oil when you use code RACHELFREE. Each month the recipe box has a theme with four full-sized essential oils as well as recipes and extra supplies you may need to create the recipes in the box.

I subscribed for a few months, got a strong footing in understanding what essential oils work for what and how to blend them and a large essential oil stock and then put my subscription on hold for a few months. I have made homemade face toner, after-sun spray, soaps and much more that I would have never thought to make with essential oils.

BONUS: 13% of Simply Earth profits go to ending human trafficking. Something that is near and dear to my heart. Items are also half the price of other brands out there, so it's a real deal! Go check it out!

3. YogaClub

yoga club athletic wear subscription box

Why I love YogaClub:

I might be the only person who has ever made a New Year's resolution and stuck with it. 11 years ago, I was skinny fat. I never did anything athletic but decided to hit the gym using a free six-week trial. I haven't stopped going since! I find that having the right clothes, even if you are just working out at home, makes working out that much more enjoyable. When I first started working out, new workout clothes {because I had NONE!} was my reward for meeting certain goals.

I had never heard of YogaClub but it's an activewear subscription box and if you are new to working out, or an old-timer like me with drawers full, you will love this box. You get styled for 50% less than retail and you get to add your style to every box. Just customize your profile answering questions like what parts of your body do you want to keep covered, and do you prefer tanks over shirts or shorts over pants and a stylist will curate a box that will fit your body type, activity, and personality.

If you are like me and want to support an active lifestyle and not spend a ton of money doing it, give it a try. Each piece ends up being less than what I would spend on simliar items at TJ Maxx but better quality. I just got my first box and I love what they sent and can't wait to work out in it. Several of the pieces are interchangeable with items I already have in my closet, so it's a real win!

4. World Vision Child Sponsorship

world vision child sponsorship

What I love World Vision:

In 2014 I had the chance to travel with my church to Uganda on a vision trip with World Vision. I saw the work that was being done and I was beyond impressed. The intentionality and the passion of the people who work with children and families to bring them out of extreme poverty is one of the most heartwarming things I have seen. It literally brings me hope and fills me with joy.

Our family sponsors three children, and it's not an understatement when I say that it's one of the best things that we have done as a family. We have seen the children we sponsor change and thrive just by being in the child sponsorship program through World Vision and if you want to make a life-long impact on one child, learning their personal story, this is the best and most effective way to do it.

I've been honored to travel with World Vision a few times since that trip to Uganda and their community-based model of work is by far, the most impactful form of sponsorship. For every child that you help in the sponsorship program, four more benefits through community activities and improvements.

Earlier this year, I was able to be a part of the new Chosen campaign that puts the power to chose in a child's hands by allowing them to choose their own sponsor. You upload your picture and the image gets printed off in various areas so a child, usually those waiting for the longest for sponsorship, can select their own sponsor from a sea of photos.

I was surprised when I heard the reasons why children selected who they did. One teenage boy told me he lived with his father and was looking for a sponsor that had a mom and a dad since he didn't have that at home. You can read more about my experience here.

5. Bright Endeavors

giving back to young moms through bright endeavors

Why I love Bright Endeavors:

I was a young mom getting pregnant during my sophomore year of college and thankfully, because of the support I had from our family, my husband and I were able to continue college without too much interruption. But I realize how difficult it is to be a young mom and even more so if you don't have that support, which is why I love Bright Endeavors. Not only do they have the most beautiful candles, but 100% of the proceeds also go back to support the mission to empower young moms, their kids, and the community.

Each candle is poured by a young mom in the paid job training program and young women are getting transitional jobs and professional skills training so they can create a bright future for themselves and their children. The candles are beautiful, they last forever, they smell great and they make great gifts.

6. DecoCrated

decocrated decor box

Why I love DecoCrated:

I love to decorate my home seasonally but I get bored with the same decorations. I'm not one of those people that keeps my seasonal decorations in the same place each year either. The swag on the staircase might be on the fireplace mantle the next year or the frame with the saying might be in the living room one year and in the guest bath the next. I like to change it all up, which is why I like DecoCrated. It's a seasonal decor subscription that comes every three months with unique items in a limited edition box you won't find anywhere else.

I've found that many of the seasonal items are items that can be used throughout the year, so it's really versatile. You can sign up for the quarterly box {use code MSRACHELTEODORO10 to save} or the annual box {use code MSRACHELTEODORO30 to save} which is the best value.

There is a very engaged Facebook group too so that you can share your decorating tips and see how other people are using the items they got in their box. It sure helps spark creativity.

If you know someone who struggles to decorate but has expressed an interest in wanting to have a cozy styled home, this box is perfect for them. And if you have someone in your life that loves decorating and can't get enough, also perfect. Go check out DecoCrated and don't forget to use those coupon codes to save more!

Maybe you've got a little spending money and want to buy yourself a gift you know you'll love, or if you want to find someone that perfect gift that keeps on giving, these six gift ideas will get you started. They are some of my favorite things right now, and I know you will love them too!
