Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles

This strawberry lemonade popsicle is delicious and refreshing, making it the perfect summer dessert recipe to cool off with! My garden is bursting with fresh strawberries and I'm always looking for new recipes to make with them. Why not mix two summer favorite flavors and create this delicious dessert or snack? If strawberries aren't in season where you live, you can always use frozen strawberries partially thawed, but man, a good fresh strawberry is perfectly sweet and perfectly delicious and will make the best tasting popsicle around!

popsicles at home how to make

Remember Tupperware parties back in the 80's? Are they still a thing? I don't know, but I do know, my favorite thing my mom ever bought were these plastic Tupperware popsicle molds. We had homemade popsicles all throughout the hot Indiana summers.

Making popsicles at home is easy!

Here are some tips to make popsicles at home a breeze!

Start with the right mold

A mold like this will allow you to freeze and remove your popsicle easily. Simply run the outside of the mold under hot water for about 20 seconds until the popsicle slides out.

A mold like this allows you to make more popsicles and take up less freezer space. It also allows you to use wooden sticks inside if that's more your thing.

Chop or slice your fruit!

Making a puree will allow you to create layers, but slicing or chopping your fruit will give you a more whole fruit look.

Don't let your popsicles sit out!

A common mistake to thaw the popsicles is to sit them out at room temperature! Don't do this! You end up with melted popsicle in all the wrong places! Run the mold under hot water for about 20 seconds and then slip them out easily.

Want to create layers in your popsicle?

You can puree your strawberries so they are a bit denser. Add the strawberry puree and put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then add the lemonade layer and freeze overnight.

Want to make a boozy popsicle?

Not all alcohol freezes and if you add it, it could leave you with a slushy mess. Think more sangria type recipes for your boozy popsicles and less vodka-based ones.

These are actually better molds usually for your boozy popsicles. Give them a try!
