An end of school lunch with some lady friends. We are ladies who lunch...and drink coffee...lots of coffee!

It's been a long school year.

I've taken on a HUGE responsibility at my kids schools in a very thankless volunteer position and had to learn how to pull up my big girl panties on multiple occasions. I've had to put on a thick skin and ignore lots of negative comments.
Some justified.  Others not.

Since September I have been counting down the days until this volunteer term would be over and with only a few weeks left, I am facing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Yahoo!
I wanted to celebrate the end of the school year with a couple of girlfriends.
Those loyal friends that love me no matter what.
Those friends that encourage me to grow in a loving way.
Those friends that stand by me even when no one else wants to stand next to me.
I am thankful for them, and am blessed because I have them in my life.

Having a little lunch is the least I could do!
I spent the day prior planning the menu and spending time shopping at my local Safeway.
The convenience of Safeway and their great prices on a variety of items allow me to easily host a party big or small.
On the lunch menu:
Baked Brie with honey and walnut drizzle served with apples, water crackers and fresh baked bread from the Safeway bakery
Greek Vegetable Salad
Pasta Spinach Salad
Black beans and rice salad
Mediterranean orzo salad

The dessert and beverage buffet table was all set.
What is a lunch with the ladies without dessert?

Living in the Seattle area, non coffee drinkers are hard to come by!
We just assume everyone loves a good cup of Joe.
And they do!
So, after lunch, I brewed up some Gevalia Columbia blend coffee.
Gevalia is expertly made with carefully selected beans and ground extra fine to produce a rich coffee experience any Seattle coffee lover will enjoy.
Lucky for you, and thanks to Gevalia, you don't have to live in Seattle to enjoy this rich coffee treat.

I love my Keurig and was so happy to find Gevalia K-cups at my local Safeway.
Perfect for a quick Gevalia fix!

Gevalia coffee is a great pairing with any meal, but I think it went exceptionally well with some delicious desserts.

I visited the Safeway bakery and picked up some yummy cheesecake and cookies to cap off our meal.

We all left thinking that we need to lunch together more often.
But really, we all know, we are all just as happy with a good cup of coffee and some great conversation!

Volunteering in a school with lots of children is very challenging. I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole(I'd probably go postal), but thank goodness for the people who do step out there.....like you! Your coffee and desserts all look yummy. Congrats on what I'm sure was a wonderful job!
