When it's said that there's no way to explore everything that Disney World has to offer in a day, it's no joke! Disney World alone is over 27,000 acres in size. Let that sink in for just a moment... For comparison purposes, it's been said that it's roughly the size of San Francisco. It all makes sense now of how it's utterly impossible to be able to see everything that Disney World can offer in just one day. And like I said earlier, a week of straight walking around may be a stretch as well. 27,000 THOUSAND acres!

Walt Disney World employs over 70,000 castmates.

Not only is it a huge employer for the state of Florida, it's actually the largest single-site employer located in the entire United States. Talk about a great boost to the local economy! And if you truly stop and think about all the positions that they have to fill, it's no surprise that they have so many employees. Princesses, characters, maintenance, customer service, ride operators, food workers...and the list could go on and on!

Walt Disney actually grew up in a small town in central Missouri. After he was born in Chicago, he moved to the small town of Marceline, Missouri which he held near and dear to his heart throughout this life. Even to this day, Marceline is still just a small town of just over 2,000 people. What an amazing story to think of the history and inspiration for Walt Disney to start and prosper from such a small town. And if you visit this town today, they have a museum and many things dedicated to him and his memory.

The beautiful thing about Disney is that the more that you learn about it, the more surprising and interesting information you can find. And trust me when I say that there are a TON of amazing and shocking facts about Disney that are out there! Have fun doing your own research and seeing what you can find out about the "happiest place on Earth". What you find out may truly shock you!
