Our dogs are a part of our family. When we can, we like to include them in the things that we are doing. Dogs can also get bored easily and that can lead to them turning to naughty behavior. Bringing your dog with you while you are out and about won't only strengthen your bond, but it will also provide the mental and physical stimulation that your pet needs. There are lots of fun things to do on the go with your pooch. These are just a few dog friendly activities that you can add to your list and you are both sure to have a tail-wagging good time!

Fun Outdoor Activities for You and Your Dog

Go Shopping with your Dog in a Pet-Friendly Store

Every store is different, so it's best to call ahead, but I've found that many outdoor malls and stores without food items to be mostly dog friendly. Your best bet is to start at a pet store and then work from there.

Visit an Off-Leash Dog Park

Before I owned a dog, I had no idea these parks even existed. I even drove past one almost daily and I had no idea! Off-leash dog parks are a great place for your dog to have the chance to run free and socialize with other dog friends. Dog parks are a great place to go if you don't have a lot of room for your active dog to run. They sometimes even have small dog areas too that are away from the bigger guys in case your little pup gets nervous.

Go on a Hike

We have lots of great trails in our area that we can explore with our dogs. Most National Parks however, are not dog-friendly, though your state park and city trails usually are. Just don't forget to follow the leash laws in your area.

Find a Walking Trail

Don't have time to take a long hike? Start small and find a walking trail in your area. Ask around and see where your friends like to walk. Dogs are excellent exercise partners!

Find a Dog-Friendly Restaurant

Many restaurants have outdoor seating areas and as the weather gets warmer these are the perfect spot to enjoy a dog-friendly dinner out. I've seen many restaurants bring out dog treats and water bowls for your pet. Just call ahead and let them know in your reservation that you will have your dog with you.

Go on Vacation Together

We love to travel, so when we can, we find dog-friendly hotels or vacation rentals that we can bring our pets to. Just make sure you check to see if there are any size restrictions or extra fees for your dog, but many provide complimentary dog beds, bowls and distilled water for your pooch.

Play a Game with Your Dog

Wrestle, play tug of war or fetch, dogs love to play and they love you as their playmate.

Have a Puppy Photo Shoot

My dogs have their own Instagram account like any millennial dog should. The camera on your phone is really all you will need. Sometimes trying to get the perfect action shot of your dog is enough to wear both of you out!

Find a Farmer's Market

Many towns now have their own Farmer's Market's and most are outdoors and allow your pup to go with you. Why not bring them along while you shop for your weekly fruits and veggies?

Find some Water

We live near the Puget Sound and our golden retriever loves any body of water she can get herself into, even if it is just a puddle! Lakes, ponds and beaches are all great places to explore with your dog.

Rent a Boat or Paddle Board

Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards are great activities to help you get out and explore the water with your dog as co-captain.

Whatever you do with your dog, you will probably wear them out and work up an appetite.

We recently rescued Frankie, an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who has spent her life being the breeding dog in a puppy mill. She's lived her life so far locked in a crate and then was abandoned when the couple moved from their home. Frankie was malnourished and neglected, and we are doing our best to find the right pet food and give her the most love and best environment so that she can grow old knowing the people surrounding her love her and are taking care of her.

I wanted to start by finding a high-quality dog food with premium ingredients for Frankie and I think I found that in GO!® recipes by Petcurean. GO! by Petcurean is a complete, nutrient-packed higher protein food with zero growth hormones, by-products, or artificial preservatives. Every GO! recipe is created using the highest quality, healthiest and most flavorful ingredients available, selected through a trusted network of farmers, ranchers and producers who are meeting the very high bar that is set for them in health, safety and quality. Check out the GO! by Petcurean Food Finder website and be sure to use the $6 off coupon featured on the site!

I can't change what happened to Frankie in her past, but I can certainly help her have the best future!

Always remember that no matter what you do, your dog loves spending time with you! So get out there and have some fun!

Such cute ideas!!! I used to live near a dog park and it was so much fun. You could really see all the puppy personalities as they were playing. 😀
